The Tresise-Pollard Collection

Sections of the 31st January, 1863  and the 18th November, 1867 birth registrations of babies Dinah and Jane Tresise respectively

(Note:  Dinah was born on 8th January, 1863 and Jane on 7th October, 1867 - both at "Smith's Creek".

These records illustrate the tragic loss of life of the earliest Tresise offspring as the family found its way in Australia.

Just 36 in early 1863 and finally settled at Smith's Creek, mother Dinah had lost five of her children.  By late 1867, three more had died.

Also shown here is father Richard's signature and mistaken information on baby Dinah's registration regarding the date of his marriage to Dinah.  (The correct date, according to the International Genealogical Index, is 7th November, 1847 - in Madron, Cornwall.)

It appears that a similar error was made on baby Jane's registration, but was corrected.

(Note:  The order of listing of the Tresise offspring on the FF2001 webpage was determined from the lists below consolidated with information from similar lists on other BDM registrations.)
